Tadalafil is usually used to treat erectile dysfunction (the inability to get or sustain an erection). It can also be prescribed to people with symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate), which include difficulty urinating, painful urination, and increased urinary urgency and frequency in adult men. Individuals with pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the vessels taking blood to the lungs) may also take Tadalafil liquid to improve their ability to exercise.
Tadalafil is taken orally, with or without food. It can be taken daily or as the need arises. The need is mainly taken to mean sex. It is of utmost importance to follow the doctor’s instructions when taking Tadalafil. The doctor will direct on the right dosage schedule for you. If you are taking the medication for erectile dysfunction, make sure you take it at least thirty minutes before sex. Take only one dose at a time, once every 24 hours. Try to take the drug at around the same time of the day if you take it daily. Remember to talk to your doctor of your experience with the drug. Tell him if it is not working. The doctor may start you on a low or average dosage then increase it as time goes by, and according to your body’s response.
Tadalafil is available under two brand names Cialis and Adcirca. You should be treated with only one of the two at a time. Before you start taking liquid Tadalafil, make sure you tell your doctor about the following things:
- If you are allergic to any medications or substances, the doctor will know whether or not you could also be allergic to Tadalafil.
- If you are using nitrates such as isosorbide mononitrate (Monoket), isosorbide dinitrate (Isordil), Nitrostat, Nitromist, etc. Your doctor may advise you against taking Tadalafil if you use nitrates. It is also important to tell the doctor about other medications, food supplements or vitamins you are taking or planning to take.
In general, talk to the doctor about your overall health including any surgeries you might have undergone.
In case you forget to take a dose at your regular time, take it as soon as you remember. However, if the time for the next dose is near, just skip the one you forgot. Do not make a mistake of taking two doses at the same time to compensate for the time you skipped. It is risky to take more than what the doctor has prescribed.
It should be noted with great concern that Tadalafil liquid does not increase sexual desire, prevent pregnancy or transmission of STDs such as HIV. A majority of people use the drug just for erection purposes, and it cannot be considered a comprehensive solution to erectile dysfunction.
